Today we will begin our Personal Finance Simulation. This site has been developed so students can
LEARN BY DOING and helping you PREPARE NOW for your financial future.
PLEASE DO NOT BEGIN THIS UNTIL ROGAN OR KOSTMAN WALKS YOU THROUGH IT AND OR GIVES YOU THE OKAY - OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE SURE ALL STUDENTS UNDERSTAND HOW TO GET STARTED AND THAT EVERYONE HAS COMPLETED THE PRETEST.
Class codes for BANZAI - you must use these to put you into the correct class
- Kostman's class - BEBMFU
- Rogan's class - 641BGL
To do:
1. Right Click on the Banzai image above and open in a new tab - that way you will continue to have my instructions open - this will take you to the Banzai student site.
2. Click on Sign Up > click on Student >type in your birthday > complete all the fields (first, last, username, passord, class code (see above). Use the same username and password you use in class to login to computers here - so you don't forget, teachers cannot access your accounts - CLASS CODES ARE ALL CAPS
3. Click - Let's Get Started - Take the PRETEST ASSESSMENT (this is located on the far right as a tab - All students must take before they begin!!!!!!!
Once each of you are logged in to Banzai, the first thing you will do is take the assessment - this is a 25 multiple choice question pretest about PF to get a baseline of what you know. We need you to include your score out of 25 on your worklinks (it will be a percentage) in the comment section - you can put under my assignment - Banzai Pretest 1. Taken the pretest? - Did you finish the whole test?- Make sure you tell your teacher what you scored - then click Okay I'm Done - Wait Here for the whole class please!
2. Download a copy of the Life Scenarios pdf - save it into your U drive - Intro to Marketing
3. On the left hand side it states - Life Scenarios will show you how to track expenses, plan your budget, and save for a rainy day. Then Continue - We will walk through the first transaction as a class.
4. Click Continue on the Banzai site once you have saved the Life Scenario pdf and opened it up. You should come to a screen that says: Key Concepts #1: Accounts - Credit, Checking and Cash - click continue
5. Next - you will come to a screen that states: Key Concepts #2:Jars - help you track how to plan the use of your money - click continue
6. Next - you will get a screen that states - let's get started - open you Life Scenarios pdf to page 1 - click the blue button that states : create accounts and jars here
7. Scenario 1 will have you pay rent out of you Checking Account - the Banzai site will have an informational box on your screen about your accounts - read these as they will help inform you about what each account does.
8. Start PFing - we will see where we get to today.
